Kaduna APC State Executive has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Uba Sani.
Gatekeepers News reports that former Governor Nasir El-Rufai was absent at the meeting held on Saturday.
The meeting which was expected to be attended by party members who currently hold or have held top public positions in Kaduna or Nigeria.
The committee applauded the Governor for rural transformation initiatives and exemplary youth and women empowerment programmes that he has held.
The meeting was attended by Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of House of Representatives; Tajudeen Abbas, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, a former Governor of Kaduna; Datti Babawo, vice-chair of the APC in the north-west; and Yusuf Dahiru Liman, speaker of Kaduna house of assembly.
Recall that a huge gap occurred in El-Rufai and Sani’s relationship in the last couple of months.
Sani had in March alleged that his administration inherited a debt of $587 million, N85 billion, and 115 contractual liabilities from El-Rufai administration.
According to Sani, the huge debt burden is eating deep into the state’s share of monthly federation allocation.
Subsequently, an ad hoc committee set up by Kaduna House of Assembly recommended that El-Rufai be probed.
Also, El-Rufai sued the state assembly on June 26 over the claim that his administration mismanaged N423 billion.
