Zamfara To Recruit 2000 Teachers

Zamfara state government has on Wednesday, announced plans to recruit 2,000 additional teachers to enhance manpower in education sector and develop a science, technical, and vocational education system in the state.

Gatekeepers News reports that Commissioner of Education, Science, and Technical, Alhaji Wadatau Madawaki announced this while speaking with journalists shortly after conducting fact-finding supervision for the ongoing renovations in Government Science Secondary School, Gusau, and Zamfara State College of Arts and Science, Gusau.

He noted that out of the total number of teachers to be recruited, 500 will be graduates while 1,500 will be National Certificate of Education (NCE) holders.

Madawaki added that recruitment will be given top priority in the areas of needs of the state, which includes, vocational, technical, and science education.

The commissioner further noted that the remaining area will be English language respectively.

He said, “The recruitment exercise is not an open ended recruitment but based on the areas of the state government’s needs considering the fact that Zamfara state lack adequate manpower in those areas for over two decades.”
