All Progressives Congress (APC) has fired back at Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over their criticism of the APC-led administration’s handling of the economy and institutions.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement signed by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, the party described the PDP Governors as “barefaced heirs of a legacy of sleaze and ruin” who are “morally and politically unfit to point fingers.”
Morka said the PDP Governors lack understanding of their place and responsibility in the system of government, adding that they are more interested in blaming the federal government for their failures rather than taking responsibility for their actions.
The APC also highlighted the PDP’s “spectacular failure” in service delivery, citing the example of Delta state which has been governed by the PDP since 1999 but still has a backlog of unpaid salaries and pensions.
The statement comes as President Bola Tinubu approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for workers in the country, a move seen as a boost to the economy.
The APC said the enduring dividends of the reforms of President Tinubu’s administration are sure and imminent, and that the transient hardship occasioned by inevitable corrective policies will pale into insignificance in comparison to the enduring prosperity they will bring to all Nigerians.
