The Egbe Omo Yoruba North America (EOYNA) is set to mark a major milestone with its 30th Anniversary and Convention in Vancouver, BC, Canada, from August 8-11, 2024.
Gatekeepers News reports that the event promises to bring together members of the Yoruba community from across North America for a weekend of celebration, cultural exchange, and reflection.
The convention “is a testament to our commitment to preserving and promoting Yoruba traditions while embracing the diversity and dynamism of our members,” the EOYNA said in a statement.
The convention will feature engaging workshops, insightful panel discussions, vibrant cultural performances, and opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals.
The theme for this year’s convention is “Diaspora Engagement in the Development of Yoruba Land: A Time to Plant.”
Attendees, according to the statement, can look forward to a diverse range of activities designed to educate, inspire, and empower them. From interactive sessions on Yoruba history and language to workshops on entrepreneurship and leadership development, participants will have the chance to expand their knowledge and skills while forging lasting connections within the community.
In addition to the educational programming, the convention will also include social events such as gala dinners, cultural showcases, and networking receptions.
