Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has announced that a team of legal professionals will provide free representation to individuals arrested or charged during the upcoming nationwide protest in Lagos State.

Gatekeepers News reports that the protest, scheduled for August 1-10, 2024, aims to address the country’s economic crisis.

Effiong, a supporter of the protest, made the announcement on his social media handle, soliciting fellow legal practitioners in Lagos to offer pro bono services.

In his tweet, he stated, “We are putting together a legal team in Lagos State to offer representation to any protester who may be arrested and or charged to court during the forthcoming peaceful protest.”
