Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, says he doesn’t speak for the protesters.
Gatekeepers News reports that Adegboruwa in a statement has appealed to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun to protect Nigerian youths that will protest tomorrow against hunger and bad economy.
Adegboruwa warned Egbetokun to caution security agents not to fire a single bullet on protesters, noting that “protesters are our children and our own citizens. They certainly do not deserve bullets and crackdowns”.
In statement he personally signed, he said he didn’t speak for the protesters in his earlier statement.
The statement reads, “My earlier statement today was a personal opinion based on my personal conviction.
“I did not speak for protesters but only made an appeal to all and sundry.
“In particular, I did not speak for the Take It Back Movement but only appeals to the government, the law enforcement agencies and the protesters. Thank you all.”
