United States Embassy in Abuja and the US Consulate General in Lagos have announced a change in their visa services provider, effective August 26, 2024.
Gatekeepers News reports that the embassy, in a statement on Wednesday explained that the development aims to enhance the visa application process for Nigerian applicants.
The embassy noted that applicants with interviews scheduled on or before August 16, 2024, will not be affected and should continue using the current website, (ustraveldocs.com).
While those with interviews between August 16 and August 26, 2024, must print their appointment confirmations before August 16 and attend their interviews as scheduled.
It added that applicants with interviews on or after August 26, 2024, must also print their appointment confirmations before August 16 and create a new account on the new visa services website from August 26.
Key dates to note include:
– August 8: Last day to pay visa fees in cash at the bank
– August 15: Last day to access (link unavailable)
– August 21: Last day to drop off documents at Premium Delivery locations
– August 23: Last day to drop off documents at regular courier locations
– August 26: New visa appointment website goes live
The US Embassy and Consulate General in Nigeria advise applicants to take note of these changes to ensure a smooth visa application process.
