Plateau State Government has relaxed the 24-hour curfew earlier imposed on Jos/ Bukuru metropolis due to violent turnout of #EndBadGovernance protests.
Gatekeepers News reports that residents of the area can now move freely between hours of 2 pm and 6 pm daily as the new order takes effect from Wednesday, August 7, 2024, until further notice.
The state Governor, Manasseh Mutfwang revealed this through a statement released by Director of Press Affairs and Public Affairs, Mr Gyang Bere.
Mutfwang who ordered the relaxation after consultation with security agencies, applauded the residents for their diligence and commitment to ensuring strict compliance with the curfew.
He stated the importance of maintaining vigilance to prevent any potential breakdown of law and order and assured that the government would continue to review the curfew as the situation in the state improved.
The governor further urged residents within Jos-Bukuru metropolis to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities for prompt action.
Going on, he assured the public of government’s unwavering commitment to safety and well-being of all citizens.
Governor Mutfwang commended the residents for their patriotism in observing the curfew, adding that it is important that they cooperate for collective interests of the state.
