South African actress known for her renowned role in the Marvel movie, ‘Black Planter’, Connie Chiume is dead.
Gatekeepers News reports that the actress died on Tuesday at the age of 72 years at Garden City Hospital.
The deceased’s family announced her tragic demise through a statement released on Tuesday.
The statement goes, “The Chiume Family regrets to inform you of the passing of internationally acclaimed award-winning actress Connie Chiume.”
“Connie, 72, died today on August 6, 2024, at Garden City Hospital. The family will communicate further details and ask for privacy during this difficult period.”
Connie Chiume played the role of Mining Tribe Elder, Zawavari in ‘Black Panther’ which was released in 2018. She also played the role of Wakandan Elder Statesman in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ which was released in 2022.
Recall that the actor, Chadwick Boseman who played the role of T’Challa in ‘Black Panther’ died before the release of the sequel after a battle with colon cancer.
