Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) have agreed to a televised public hearing in the Senate to address allegations of sabotage in the oil sector.

Gatekeepers News reports that the hearing is aimed at uncovering the truth behind the allegations and clearing the names of those falsely accused.

Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, stated, “We are faithful, loyal, and committed to the greatness of this country. We are not criminals, thieves, or saboteurs as being alleged through wrong narratives.”

He also highlighted the company’s progress, saying, “Today, from 1.4 million barrels it was months back, production level has increased to 1.65 million barrels per day and will soon hit the expected 2 million barrels per day.”

Farouk Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of NMDPRA, supported Kyari’s statement, saying, “The planned public hearing should be televised live for Nigerians to know those indulging in the alleged economic sabotage in the sector.”
