Ogun State Government has declared Tuesday, August 20th, a public holiday to commemorate the annual Isese Day.
Gatekeepers News reports that this announcement was made by Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, in a statement on Monday.
According to Akinmade, the public holiday is a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to religious inclusivity, allowing traditional worshippers to observe their special day. He noted that Ogun State is a unique example of religious harmony, despite its diversity.
Akinmade urged traditional worshippers to celebrate with moderation and respect for other religions, maintaining the state’s culture of religious tolerance.
He also encouraged adherents to use the festive period to pray for peace and economic prosperity in Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole, emphasising the significance of prayers in a nation’s success.
