Lagos Extends Work-From-Home Policy Amid Economic Hardship

Sanwo-Olu Approves Wage Award And December Bonus For Workers

Lagos state government has extended its work-from-home policy for civil servants by three months due to the rising cost of living.

Gatekeepers News reports that the policy, which was introduced in February, allows workers on grade levels 01 to 14 to work from home for two days a week, while those on grade levels 15 to 17 can work from home for one day.

In a statement, Bode Agoro, the Lagos state head of service, announced the extension of the “flexible work initiative” to mitigate the effects of the petrol subsidy removal.

“Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has magnanimously approved the extension of the flexible work-from-home initiative for an additional three (3) months with effect from September 4th to 3rd of December 2024,” the statement reads.
