Dangote Group has said that Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has not started lifting premium motor spirit (PMS) aka petrol from its refinery.

Gatekeepers News reports that the company said this through a statement released by its chief branding and communications officer, Anthony Chiejina.

Dangote Group revealed that it is yet to finalise its contract with NNPC.

It said, “We would like to state that NNPC has not commenced lifting of refined Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from our Dangote petroleum refinery.”

“Therefore, the issue of fixing the price of petrol lifted from our refinery does not arise, as we are yet to finalise our contract with NNPC.”

Dangote Group noted that petrol market is strictly regulated, and as such, the company can not determine, fix, or influence the product price which falls under the purview of relevant government authorities.

It assured Nigerians that it would produce high-quality petroleum products, which would be available across the country.

Recall that chairman of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote officially announced the commencement of petrol production at his refinery on Tuesday.
