Olubadan Appoints Ex-NUJ Chairman – Olugbemiga Ayoade As CPS

Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Olakunlehin has appointed a former chairman of the Oyo State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NIJ), Olugbemiga Ayoade as his Chief Press Secretary.

Gatekeepers News reports that the appointment was announced through a letter dated August 29, 2024, and signed by Prince Olasunmbo Owolabi Olakulehin on behalf of the monarch.

Olugbemiga Ayoade was born into Taiwo Ariyibi Dynasty of E8/215, Eleruko compound, Oke Ofa Baba Isale.

He holds a Diploma in Mass Communication from Ibadan Polytechnic, a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology (1989), and a master’s in Sociology (1995) from University of Ibadan.

The new appointee served and retired from Oyo State Civil Service as Director of Public Enlightenment and Mass Mobilisation in Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism.

As a core professional, Ayoade has held several key positions in NUJ, including Financial Secretary, Ministry of Information NUJ  Chapel, Treasurer, Vice-Chairman, and Chairman of the Oyo State NUJ Chapter.

He also served as a member of the 7-man committee on Insurance Policy for journalists in Nigeria, at the national level.

Ayoade is currently the chairman of Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the Oyo State NUJ.

Oba Olakulehin charged the newly appointed spokesman to advance the unity and progress of Ibadan land in his new role.
