Fintech companies; OPay, Moniepoint, and others will form 9 September 2024, begin deduction of N50 Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) from every inflow of N10,000 and above received by their customers.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Fintech companies notifying their customers informed their customers of their plan through their app.
According to them; this deduction is in accordance with Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) directive.
This brings to an era of free banking services that some of the fintechs provide, even though the charges go to the federal government.
