Fire on Sunday afternoon razed Oko Baba plank market in Ebute Metta area of Lagos State.
Gatekeepers News reports that operatives of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are currently attempting to contain the fire.
Adedeji Olalekan tweeted on X as #Stylomedia on Sunday that the fire also affected the shanties in the market.
LASEMA’s spokesperson, Nosa Okunbor, confirmed the incident, adding that emergency responders were at the scene carrying out a search and rescue operation.
Okunbor said, “LASEMA Response Team, LRU Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service are in search and rescue operation at Oko Baba plank market by Ibadan Street, Ebute Metta.”
