Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole has congratulated the newly elected Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa.

Gatekeepers News reports that the former Governor congratulated them on their victory through a statement released by his senior aide, Hon. Victor Oshioke on Monday.

The Senator representing Edo North acknowledged the overwhelming mandate from the citizens of Edo, adding that they have expressed a clear desire for change after eight years marked by underperformance and a disregard for institutional integrity.

The politician emphasised that the election results reflect the voices of Edo citizens seeking a government that prioritizes their rights and aspirations.

According to him, Okpebholo and Idahosa’s victory is not only a political achievement but a divine intervention responding to the cries of Edo people who have sought relief from almost 8 years of despotic rule.

Addressing the new Governor and Deputy Governor, he said. “This is a golden opportunity for you to inscribe your names in annals of history by offering the people of Edo State a progressive and purposeful leadership.”

Oshiomhole reiterated his unwavering support for the incoming administration as they embark on a journey to restore hope and effective governance to the state.

The politician further urged the incoming leaders to focus on tangible actions rather than lamenting the challenges ahead.

He reassured the people of Edo that their choice of All Progressives Congress (APC) would yield positive outcomes and urged them to remain engaged and supportive of the incoming administration.
