No fewer than 60 bodies have been recovered after a boat accident in Niger State.
Gatekeepers News reports that the boat, which was carrying over 300 passengers, capsized at the Gbajibo River in Mokwa Local Government Area.
The tragic incident occurred as the boat was en route from Mundi to Gbajibo for the Annual Maulud celebration. Council Chairman Abdullahi Muregi confirmed the recovery of around 60 bodies and the rescue of 10 survivors.
Rescue efforts, involving the State emergency management agency and local authorities, are ongoing to locate the others who are still missing.
