Ogun Donates N200m To Maiduguri Flood Victims

Ogun state government has announced a donation of N200 million to support victims of the flooding in Maiduguri, Borno state.

Gatekeepers News reports that the flooding, which occurred on September 10, led to the displacement of thousands of residents in several areas of Maiduguri, including Fori, Galtimari, Gwange, and Bulabulin.

According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the flood has resulted in the death of more than 30 people and the displacement of over 400,000 individuals in the state capital.

The donation from Ogun state is intended to aid the flood victims in their recovery efforts and provide them with immediate relief.

The special adviser on media and strategy to the Ogun governor, Kayode Akinmade, emphasised the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Borno caused by the flood and called for urgent assistance from all Nigerians.

Governor Dapo Abiodun had earlier conveyed his condolences to the people of Maiduguri and the government of Borno, while also commending the state and federal governments for their swift response and support.
