Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara will swear in the newly elected council chairmen today, Sunday, October 6, 2024.
Gatekeepers News reports that the state Government announced this through a statement released on Sunday by Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo.
Recall that Chief Election Officer of Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), Justice Adolphus Enebeli on Saturday announced that Action Peoples Party (APP) won 22 chairmanship positions out of 23 in Rivers State local government election.
According to the statement; the swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, the state capital, at 4 pm today, Sunday.
The statement added, “The newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30pm.”
