Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stated on Tuesday that he has no regrets about opposing the presidential aspirations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023.

Gatekeepers News reports that Wike explained that he took this stance because he felt that the party had disregarded principles of fairness, equity, and justice. Though Wike supported the PDP at the state level, he chose not to back the party during the presidential election.

Featuring on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Wike also declared that the ousted chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Rivers State was not his man.

He said: “Tony Okocha, not my man. They fought me during the governorship election. He’s my friend does not mean I brought him to the APC.

“For the presidential election, I said I was going to support equity, fairness and justice and in the others, I will support my party. That was why we won the governorship, and National Assembly elections.

“For the presidential election, I have no apology for working against the PDP because I don’t believe in injustice and not allowing other people to participate. I said I won’t support injustice and have no apology to render to anybody.”
