Leaders of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Wednesday, met with federal government over a petrol price hike.
Gatekeepers News reports that the meeting took place at the office of George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF).
Officials at the meeting were Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris; National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.
Recall that Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited increased the price of petrol to N998 and N1,003!owe liter across its retail outlets last week Wednesday.
The Labour unions rejected the petrol price hike, saying it goes against its agreement with the federal government during negotiations for a new minimum wage.
