Former Governor of Anambra state and 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has said that he will never be separated from his wife, Margaret Brownson.
Gatekeepers News reports that Obi declared an unwavering commitment to their marriage during a recent interview on ‘Honest Bunch’ podcast.
The politician said no matter what his partner of over thirty years does be it an extramarital affair, he would never divorce her.
He said, “No matter what my wife does today I cannot stop marrying her. I can never separate from her. Even if you like carry a gun to shoot me.”
“As long as I am alive, she is my wife. I can tell you that. That is me. That is sealed. Whatever she likes she should do. What can she do to offend me?”
“Maybe, have an affair. It is her business. It is not me. Who would say the two of us are having an affair?”
Also, Obi spoke on the differences in their lifestyle choices, citing an example where Margaret travels in business or first class while he prefers economy class.
He said, “You cannot quantify me with the life of my wife or my children. We have different lifestyles. Even if I am travelling with my wife, people see my wife in business class.”
“They have seen her in first class. We are in a different class and we are in the same plane. She is in business class, I am in economic class. We do not quarrel with what suits her.”
