US President-elect Donald Trump made his first cabinet appointment on Thursday, indicating a desire to shift away from the policies of the outgoing administration.

Gatekeepers News reports that Susie Wiles, Trump’s campaign manager, has been appointed as his White House Chief of Staff, marking her as the first woman to hold this prominent position in a Republican administration.

“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected. She will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again,” Trump said of the 67-year-old Florida native.

Wiles has garnered widespread support within Trump’s team and was notably acknowledged during his victory speech on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a key figure in the anti-vaccine movement, has been promised a significant role in healthcare, although he emphasised that he would not advocate for the removal of vaccines.

However, he suggested that the incoming administration might consider eliminating fluoride from public water supplies, a substance that health authorities maintain benefits dental and skeletal health.

Elon Musk, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals and a prominent supporter of Trump, is also being considered for a position related to auditing government waste. As the CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, and X (formerly Twitter), Musk has emerged as a notable figure in right-wing advocacy.

Trump is anticipated to reverse numerous policies implemented by President Biden, particularly in relation to climate change. He has expressed scepticism regarding climate initiatives and has pledged to dismantle Biden’s environmental policies, advocating for increased oil drilling.

However, Trump may face obstacles in attempting to overturn some of Biden’s investment laws, especially in areas where Congressional representatives might oppose such cuts due to their impact on local funding.
