Former chairman of Lagos chapter of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo has been sworn in as national president of the union.
Gatekeepers News reports that the swearing-in ceremony was held at the union’s national secretariat on Monday.
MC Oluomo was the only candidate in the election held at the union’s zonal secretariat along Osogbo/Ikirun road, Osun state at the weekend.
Delegates from the four south-west states—Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti—participated in the election.
Tajudeen Agbede and Akeem Adeosun were sworn in as vice-president, south-west and trustee.
Speaking after the swearing-in, MC Oluomo thanked members of the union and his supporters for electing him as their president.
He said, “I promised to lead the union to a greater height with the help of almighty Allah.”
