Monday Okpebholo, the Governor-elect of Edo State, has appointed Fred Itua as the Chief Press Secretary for his incoming administration.
Gatekeepers News reports that Itua’s appointment was announced on Monday and marks Okpebholo’s first official action before his inauguration and the transfer of power from the current Governor, Godwin Obaseki, set to take place on Tuesday.
Itua, who has a strong background in journalism, has previously worked with prominent publications such as Leadership and The Sun newspapers. As Chief Press Secretary, he will oversee the Governor’s media team.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma and a Master’s degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja. He is currently in the final stages of completing his PhD thesis in Development Communication at Veritas University in Abuja.
With extensive experience covering topics such as the National Assembly, migration, health, anti-corruption, and environmental issues, Itua brings valuable insight into both national and international affairs. His dedication to lifelong learning and his ability to work effectively in diverse cultural settings position him as a capable leader ready to drive innovative initiatives within the administration.
