Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has appeared at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja for a hearing regarding allegations of fraud amounting to N110 billion.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) declared him wanted in April 2024 due to the charges.
On Tuesday, Bello reported to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he was questioned. He was then brought to court on Wednesday morning (today).
Despite the charges being filed against him, the commission has faced delays in bringing him to court for arraignment.
The EFCC initially filed 19 charges against Bello, along with his nephews Ali Bello, Dauda Suliman, and Abdulsalam Hudu, related to money laundering activities totalling over N80 billion.
