President Tinubu Makes Fresh Appointments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of chief executive officers (CEOs) for the National Universities Commission (NUC) and Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).

Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu also appointed CEOs for Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI) and New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD).

Special adviser to the president on information and strategy Bayo Onanuga announced the new appointments through a statement released on Friday.

According to the statement; President Tinubu appointed Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, a visiting professor at NUC, as the commission’s executive secretary.

Ribadu had previously served as vice-chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Yola, and Sule Lamido University, Jigawa state.

Salisu Shehu was named executive secretary of NERDC.

Shehu had also served as vice-chancellor of Al-Istiqamah University, Kano. He played a vital role in the establishment of the School of Continuing Education at Bayero University, Kano.

Tinubu also named Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri as national coordinator of NEPAD, while Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani was appointed as executive secretary of the SMDF/PAGMI.

The statement added, “Jabilu Tsauri holds a master’s in international affairs and diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University.”

“He is a seasoned administrator with expertise in legislative affairs, global affairs, and democratic governance and vast experience in public service.”

“Yazid Danfulani holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in arts and management from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom.”
