In the second half, the club started strongly but was caught off guard when Maxence Lacroix scored from a corner. Rico Lewis then scored to level the game once more but was sent off six minutes before the end of the game.
The draw leaves City eight points behind leaders Liverpool, dealing a significant blow to their chances of securing a fifth consecutive title.
Meanwhile, the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool was postponed due to Storm Darragh, which brought high winds and heavy rain to the region. The match will be rescheduled for a later date.
