Nigerian national women’s football team, Super Falcons, has been named the National Team of the Year at Confedration of African Football (CAF) Awards held in Morocco.
Gatekeepers News reports that the team represented by Ibrahim Musa Gusau expressed gratitude to the organisers and urged for increased support for women’s football.
Gusau said, “We are grateful for this award again this year, i was here last year to receive this same award, which is to show the development and resilience of Nigerian football.”
He further expressed gratitude to the efforts of the First lady, Oluremi Tinubu for her continuous support to the developments of women football in Nigeria.
He said, “I also want to use this moment to appreciate our first lady back home for her continuous support to the development of women football in Nigeria.”
