Olanrewaju Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky criticised Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over its recent request for Nigerians to show empathy over the loss of an officer.
Gatekeepers News reports that the operative was allegedly killed by an internet fraudster during a raid in Anambra state on Friday, January 17, 2024.
Bobrisky in a lengthy post on her official Instagram page, said the anti-graft agency doesn’t deserve to ask Nigerians to be “human” because they “are the most wicked people in Nigeria”.
She wrote, “I just don’t like reading anything about EFCC online, cos I feel like I wanna throw up anytime I read about them. You are asking the public to be human about the loss of one of your staff, but you are the most wicked people in Nigeria.”
The transgender alleged that operatives of EFCC searched her house, seized her phone for over a week, went through her emails, and tried to access her private conversations on Instagram and WhatsApp, but she declined.
The celebrity added that EFCC asked her to provide the phone number of Papaya, a social media influencer which she refused.
She said, “When I was in your custody, you took me to my house and searched my house. When I asked you guys why, you claimed that I am into money laundering, you want to check if I am not printing money in my house. Police are hundred percent better than you all one million times.”
“After writing my statement, you asked me to give you Papaya’s number. I told you I do not have her number. Even if I am not talking to her, I won’t be heartless to set her up like that cos I was not trained to be a snitch.”
“I am a good citizen that obeys laws. If not, immediately I got your invitation letter, I would have flown out of Nigeria because I had two countries visa on my passport. But I said no, I am a public figure, let me honor their invitation.”
Bobrisky further warned Nigerian entrepreneurs against selling their goods in dollars, alleging that EFCC is arresting people who did so.
She said, “Lastly, business owners stop selling your stuffs in dollars. They are using that to arrest people too.”
“One of my friends is their victim. They went to his store and pretended to be a customer that wanted to purchase one of the items in the store. They offered to pay in dollars and he told them to pay, naso they arrest am.”
