Former President Muhammadu Buhari asserted that during his eight-year tenure, there were significant improvements in Nigeria’s security and economy.
Gatekeepers News reports that he made this statement in Wednesday during a courtesy visit from members of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his country home in Daura, Katsina State.
Buhari reflected on the state of the country prior to his administration, noting that Nigeria faced serious challenges related to security and economic instability.
He maintained that his administration effectively addressed the issues of terrorism and economic decline through the implementation of strategic security and economic initiatives.
He emphasised that the complexities of governance in Nigeria are best understood by those in power, pointing out that leaders often encounter various obstacles while trying to carry out policies and programs.
“Security and economy improved significantly in Nigeria under my administration compared to what we met in 2015. Things will continue to improve in Nigeria”, he insisted.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Katsina State, Alhaji Yusuf Jargaba, thanked the former President for tackling terrorism, banditry and other security challenges during his tenure.
“Your hard work, dedication and selfless service to humanity were responsible for maintaining the country’s unity, making the country remain indivisible”, Jargaba stated.
