Muslim community of Lagos State has extended warm greetings to all Muslims in the state and beyond.
Gatekeepers News reports that the community did this in a statement signed by Muhammad Oyinlomo Danmole, its President and Jubril Folami, its Public Relations Officer.
It noted that this sacred period is an opportunity for spiritual renewal, increased devotion, and deep reflection.
The Muslim community added that is a time when the mercy, forgiveness, and blessings of Allah descend upon His servants, and we must strive to make the most of it.
Citing a verse of the Qur’an, the community noted that Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink; it is a period of heightened spirituality, self-discipline, and acts of charity.
It encouraged all Muslims in Lagos State to engage in extra prayers, recitation of the Qur’an, seeking forgiveness, and giving to the less privileged.
The community said, “Let us not allow this month to pass without drawing closer to Allah and making positive changes in our lives.”
It prayed for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of Lagos State, adding “May Allah grant wisdom and guidance to our leaders as they steer the affairs of the state toward greater development.
The community urged Muslims to make special supplications for the security, stability, and well-being of our dear state during this holy month.
It added, “One of the greatest blessings of Ramadan is the spirit of unity it fosters among Muslims. We must not allow divisions to weaken us.”
The community urged all Muslim organisationa, leaders, and individuals across Lagos State to set aside differences and work together for the common good of the Ummah.
It noted that Collaboration in da’wah, community development, and humanitarian efforts will strengthen the state’s collective impact and bring about greater benefits.
The community appealed to well-meaning individuals and organisations to support the needy, provide iftar meals, and extend kindness to those around them.
The statement added, “Ramadan is a precious gift, and we must embrace it with sincerity and devotion. Let us pray for ourselves, our families, our state, and our nation. May Allah (SWT) accept our acts of worship, grant us peace, and unite us upon goodness.”
“We wish all Muslims in Lagos State a blessed and rewarding Ramadan.”
