Dr. (Mrs.) Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor is a distinguished UK-trained Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, renowned Medical Simulator, dedicated Educationist, and United Nations Eminent Peace Ambassador.
She is currently pursuing her PhD in Law and Criminology at Sheffield Hallam University. Her academic career has seen her excel at esteemed institutions including the University of Benin, University of Edinburgh, and London School of Economics.
Dr. Ogboro-Okor was the Head Girl at Federal Government Girls’ College in Benin City, holding the position of Vice-President of University of Benin Medical Students’ Association, and spearheading multiple organizations.
She plays a key role in a robust Edo State diaspora network spanning nearly 60 countries and serves as a non-executive member of Odionwere Council in United Kingdom.
In 2022, Dr. Ogboro-Okor made history as the first female keynote speaker at Edo National Association Worldwide (ENAW) Annual Convention in Las Vegas, and in 2024, she entered the gubernatorial race, reflecting her deep commitment to public service in Edo State.
Dr. Ogboro-Okor is an inspiring force through her motivational platform, Loretta Reveals, and her acclaimed book, My Father’s Daughter.
In 2010, she co-founded Ashanti Graham Health & Education Initiative Foundation with her husband, Dr. Douglas E. Okor, a Consultant Neurosurgeon, to enhance healthcare delivery in sub-Saharan Africa. She further established the Loretta Health Initiative, which provides free primary healthcare to underserved rural communities in Edo State.
Grounded in strong faith and humility, Dr. Ogboro-Okor remains a fervent advocate for unity and cultural integration, guided by her belief that “our shared humanity is the true religion.”
Following her appointment, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to the state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo. She acknowledged the trust bestowed upon her and the opportunity to serve.
