Haulage Maintenance Officer

Job Description:
The job holder will work as part of the team responsible for truck maintenance at the matrix Truck Park.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure all repairs of trucks, both critical and non-critical repairs are resolved in a timely manner.
- Keeps proper records of trucks under corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure proper verification of breakdowns reported by the truck drivers and inspection team.
- Carry out routine checks on all truck components.
- Carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any breakdown and failed component and establish permanent solutions to issues while following industry standards.
- Ensures trucks under maintenance are correctly collated and reported by the Fleet Officers.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports to the Workshop Manager on all tasks and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure the required truck parts are supplied to technicians handling the trucks.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- HND degree in an Engineering course; preferably Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in vehicle and truck maintenance.
- Knowledge of various Mechanical and Electrical components of trucks.
- Good knowledge of the basic mechanical components and systems of trucks.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must have the ability to work with and maintain good relationships with colleagues at all levels including truck drivers and mechanics.
- Knowledge of new technologies and techniques in Haulage Maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word and Excel) will be an added advantage.
