US Terminates Legal Status For 500000 Immigrants

The United States has announced the termination of the legal status of hundreds of thousands of immigrants, giving them weeks to leave the country.

Gatekeepers News reports that the affected immigrants must leave the country latest April 24 unless they secure another immigration status.

President President Donald Trump had vowed to carry out the largest deportation campaign in US history

The order affected Latin Americans; around 532,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans who came to the United States under a scheme launched in October 2022 by Trump’s predecessor Joe Biden, and expanded in January of the next year.

According to the order, these immigrants will lose their legal protection 30 days after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) publishes the directive in the Federal Register, which is scheduled for Tuesday.

Welcome.US, which supports people seeking refuge in the United States, urged the affected immigrants to seek legal counsel immediately.
