Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Achebe, has denied issuing a warning to northern youths regarding the recent killing of hunters in Edo state.

Gatekeepers‏ News reports that the monarch, according to a statement released by his Chief of Staff, Osita Anionwu, has made no comments on the incident and has not issued any warnings.

This denial comes amidst reports circulating online that the Obi had cautioned northern youths against launching reprisal attacks on Igbos in response to the deaths.

The palace has described these reports as “inaccurate” and “inflammatory,” urging the public to disregard them and instead focus on promoting unity and understanding.

“As a champion of peace and harmony among all Nigerians, His Majesty remains committed to fostering an environment of mutual respect and cooperation among people of different ethnic and regional backgrounds. Let us work together to build bridges, not walls.”
