PDP Govs Against Coalition May Be Secretly Working For Tinubu’s Re-Election – Dele Momodu

Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine, has expressed concerns regarding the stance of governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who oppose the idea of forming a coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.

Gatekeepers News reports that he suggested  that these governors may, in fact, be working in favor of President Bola Tinubu.

On Monday, the PDP governors officially dismissed the prospect of merging or allying with any other political party in anticipation of the upcoming elections.

This declaration comes amid ongoing discussions about the possibility of opposition parties collaborating to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

During an appearance on Arise Television, Momodu pointed out that none of the leading opposition parties currently possess the capability to independently unseat President Tinubu in the forthcoming election cycle.

He further advised that in order to effectively compete, the opposition should seek to unite and implement strategies similar to those employed by the APC during their successful campaign in 2015.

“Opposition leaders are very determined this time around to work together. The truth of the matter is Atiku cannot do it alone, Peter Obi cannot do it alone, and Rabiu Kwankwanso cannot do it alone,” Momodu said.

“So, naturally, they have to find a way to pay APC back in its own coins by trying to get at least a chunk of all the parties, including the APC, to come together.

“If our governors are saying no, we don’t want to go into a coalition, then it means that surreptitiously you are probably working for a Tinubu presidency.

“People must learn from history; a bully only respects a bully, but all of us are already behaving like chickens. Anything, people panic, saying they are going to use the EFCC or arrest them.

“Any governor or any senator or house member who may be tempted to just jump ship may jump to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.”
