Volvo Group To Lay Off Hundreds Of US Workers

Volvo Group has announced plans to lay off up to 800 workers at three United States facilities over the next three months.

Gatekeepers News reports that according yo Reuters; Volvo Group cited reason for its decision as market uncertainty and concerns over demand in the face of President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs.

The publication noted that Volvo Group North America confirmed that between 550 and 800 employees would be impacted.

The company listed the affected facilities to include Mack Trucks sites in Macungie, Pennsylvania, as well as two Volvo Group facilities in Dublin, Virginia, and Hagerstown, Maryland.

Industry analysts said the decision is driven by rising production costs triggered by current U.S. trade policies and tariffs.
