Federal high court in Abuja has admitted exhibits in the ongoing terrorism trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

Gatekeepers News reports that the exhibits which included a flash drive and Kanu’s written statement, were tendered by an operative of Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday.

Recall that Kanu is currently facing a seven-count charge, including terrorism and treasonable felony, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

The DSS official, identified as “BBB”, had earlier on Tuesday, appeared before Justice James Omotosho of the high court to provide his testimony.

The witness had revealed he was part of DSS team assigned to take Kanu’s statement on July 17, 2021, after a letter written by attorney-general of the federation (AGF), requesting that Kanu be investigated for alleged terrorism.

He however couldn’t complete his testimony during Tuesday’s court proceedings.

During Wednesday’s resumed hearing, the operative presented Kanu’s written statement, the AGF’s letter, and the flash drive as exhibits. The court accepted the materials, and some of the video clips were played in court.

According to reports; one clip featuring Kanu’s voice, urged his followers to attack soldiers and police officers “anywhere they were found in the country.”

The video clip was said to have been recorded on October 20, 2020, during #EndSARS protest.

In another clip, the voice urged the destruction of federal government buildings and vehicles in Lagos and encouraged the public to manufacture weapons.

A third clip reportedly captured a phone conversation in which the voice told a man over the phone that “there are some guns already on Edo State, take those guns and kill some army officers, take their guns and use it to attack the others”.
