Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Sunday near Kawo flyover, where Buba reportedly pulled over after his car developed a flat tyre.
While attempting to solve the issue, he was approached by the suspect who demanded his mobile phone. When Buba refused, the assailant stabbed him in the chest with a knife.
Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the incident. He noted that Buba sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Manaal Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by a doctor.
Hassan added that Suleiman Dahiru who attempted to help the late naval officer was also stabbed in the hand and he is currently receiving treatment.
