Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in a deal valued at nearly £60 million.
Gatekeepers News reports that days after speculations of the deal being completed, the Gunners on Sunday, July 6, announced they’ve sealed the deal.
Reacting to the signing, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta expressed admiration for his recruit.
He said, “ Martín is a player who will bring a huge amount of quality and football intelligence to our team.”
“He will fit in really well and he has all the attributes to be a key player for us.”
“The standard he has consistently performed at over the last few seasons for both club and country is exactly why we are so excited to have him with us. We all welcome Martín and his family to the club.”
Zubimendi’s shirt number is 36, the number he wore at Real Sociedad six years ago when he first broke into the senior team.
