Atiku Vows to Resist Election Rigging – Promises Reform Under ADC

Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, has said he will resist election rigging and continue to fight against poor governance in the country.

Gatekeepers News reports that Atiku made the statement in a post on his X page on Saturday after meeting with Gombe stakeholders led by Laris Abdullahi, a former minister and senator.

He expressed concern over the persistent hardship faced by citizens despite Nigeria’s abundant resources, blaming the crisis on poor leadership.

Atiku noted that the coalition of opposition leaders now operating under ADC is committed to driving meaningful transformation across the country.

He said, “Yesterday, I vowed to stand against the stealing of elections and oppose bad governance.”

“I made the pledge while receiving a delegation of Gombe stakeholders led by former minister and senator, Idris Abdullahi.”

“The coalition of opposition leaders under the umbrella of the ADC would work assiduously to usher in a positive change that will transform the lives of our people.”

“The quality of the interim leadership shows that we are ready to bring integrity to the process and give Nigerians the responsible leadership they deserve.”

The 2023 PDP presidential candidate also welcomed the strong backing of Gombe stakeholders, who declared their full support for the coalition and announced their decision to join ADC.

He said, “I am further inspired by the Gombe stakeholders’ pledge of total support and loyalty to the decision of the coalition by joining the ADC.”

“The group reminded me that I laid the foundation for the development of Gombe when I supported the election of Danjuma Goje as governor in 2003.”
