Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the south-south have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and three Governors from the region for 2027 elections.
Gatekeepers News reports that the endorsement followed a high-level meeting held in Benin City, Edo State.
Among the attendees were Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Senator Adams Oshiomhole; Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo; APC Acting National Chairman Ali Dalori; National Vice-Chairman Victor Giadom; and Governors from the zone.
In a communiqué signed by Keyamo on behalf of the stakeholders, the group expressed full confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, unanimously adopting him as their sole presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
They also expressed their support for four South-South Governors: Bassey Otu (Cross River), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), and Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), endorsing them as the party’s standard-bearers for their respective states in the next election.
The stakeholders also urge the two remaining Governors in the region, Douye Diri of Bayelsa and Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers, both of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join APC and align with the federal government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Commending President Tinubu for signing the South-South Development Commission Bill into law and initiating key infrastructure projects across the region, the stakeholders praised the growing support from Akwa Ibom and Delta, calling it “patriotic and courageous.”
The communique reads, “We welcome the governors, stakeholders and supporters of Delta and Akwa Ibom States for their patriotic and courageous decisions of embracing the Renewed Hope Agenda and joining the All Progressives Congress.”
“We call on the remaining two non-APC
Governors of the region, namely Governors of Bayelsa and Rivers States and their supporters to also join the progressive family in the APC.”
“We hereby unanimously ADOPT Mr. President, HE, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as our SOLE CANDIDATE FOR THE 2027 Presidential Election and fervently appeal to the electorate in the South South Region and Nigeria to support him.”

Governors from the South-South Region as our SOLE GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES in their respective states in the 2027 gubernatorial elections and appeal to the electorate to vote massively for them in recognition of their outstanding performance and commitment to good governance.”
