Zakari Mohammed, a former member of House of Representatives (2011–2019) representing Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency of Kwara State, has resigned his membership from People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Gatekeepers News reports that in a letter addressed to the PDP ward chairman of Gure/Gwasoro Ward, Baruten Local Government Area, Mohammed announced his decision to quit the party at all levels—ward, local government, state, and national.
The former federal lawmaker, who also holds the traditional title of Lafia Yeruma of Kpelle Kingdom (Mai-Jamaa), did not disclose his next political destination but noted that he would announce his new platform after due consultations with his supporters.
She said, “ I write to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP in the Ward, Local Government State and Federal Levels.”
“I would advance in my political future in another platform to be announced later, after wider consultation with my supporters.”
Mohammed expressed gratitude to PDP leadership for the opportunity to serve in various capacities during his time in the party and appreciated the support and cooperation he received.
“I thank the Leadership of the PDP for the opportunity given me to serve in various capacities in my sojourn at the party.”
