Dele Momodu Quits PDP – Joins ADC – Cites Anti-Democratic Forces

Dele Momodu, renowned publisher of Ovation magazine and former presidential candidate, has resigned from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Gatekeepers News reports that in a resignation letter dated July 17 and addressed to PDP ward chairman in Ihievbe, Owan East LGS of Edo State, Momodu explained that his decision was due to the takeover of the party by anti-democratic forces operating both internally and externally.

The politician declared his allegiance to African Democratic Congress (ADC), the political platform adopted by a coalition of opposition politicians seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Momodu’s departure from the PDP follows closely on the heels of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s exit from the party.

Abubakar, who was the PDP’s presidential candidate in the last election, also criticises the party for deviating from its founding ideals.

A long-time supporter of Atiku, Momodu served as the director of strategic communications for the PDP presidential campaign council in 2022.

He had previously run for president under the National Conscience Party in the 2011 election.
