A faction of the Labour Party (LP) has announced the appointment of Nenadi Usman as its interim national chairman.
Gatekeepers News reports that the decision was made during a meeting of the party’s national executive committee (NEC) held in Abuja on Friday.
In addition, Darlington Nwokocha, a former senator from Abia Central, has been appointed as the interim national secretary. These appointments are part of the faction’s strategy to reorganize the party’s leadership in preparation for an upcoming national convention.
During the meeting, a resolution was passed directing the party’s national secretariat to publish comprehensive guidelines and timelines for the upcoming congresses and convention. This initiative aims to enhance internal democracy and ensure transparency in the electoral process.
