Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) has inducted eight new agencies as associate members during its 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Congress.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement on Sunday, the association said the newly inducted agencies cut across traditional, experiential, and digital marketing sectors, reflecting the group’s continued expansion and evolving diversity.
The three-day event included a series of business sessions, knowledge-sharing discussions, and community-building activities. A Gala Night held on Saturday spotlighted rising stars in the industry and recognised key contributors to the advertising landscape.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the ‘Rising Star Award’ to five promising young professionals from leading agencies.
Among those honoured were Ayoade Omolola of X3M Ideas, Chidera Okpala of SO&U, and Faruq Alimi of Noah’s Ark. Deborah Folaranmi of Wunderman Thompson and Leah Afolabi of Leo Burnett were also recognised for their creativity, dedication, and future potential in shaping the industry.
The ceremony also featured a posthumous tribute to the late Suleman Omone-Ogie Momoh, who was celebrated for his exceptional leadership and service. A moment of silence was observed in his honour.
Activities at the AGM began on Thursday with a fireside chat featuring Lekan Fadolapo, Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
On Friday, keynote addresses were delivered by Idowu Akinde, Managing Director of Impact Hub Lagos, and Bolanle Osotule, General Manager and Head of Brand Marketing and Advertising at Airtel Nigeria.
The day also included panel discussions that examined innovation trends, governance, and the changing dynamics of marketing communications.
In his closing remarks, AAAN President Lanre Adisa described the congress as a moment of reflection, renewal, and resolve.
He said the sessions reaffirmed the association’s commitment to building a progressive, inclusive, and forward-thinking industry.
Adisa also praised the active involvement of young professionals and stressed the importance of ongoing conversations around regulation, creativity, and agency development.
