Trump To Meet Putin Aug 15 Over Ukraine Conflict

US President Donald Trump has announced that he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska to discuss efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the meeting comes after Trump expressed frustration with Russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine and its apparent unwillingness to come to an accord.

According to Trump, the meeting will focus on finding a solution to the conflict, with territorial swaps potentially on the table.

“We’re looking to get some back and some swapping,” Trump said. “It’s complicated.”

However, Ukrainian troops remain skeptical about diplomatic efforts, with one commander saying, “The only option is to defeat them”.

The meeting’s outcome remains uncertain, with analysts suggesting that Putin may be trying to outlast the West.

Putin faces an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court, but the US is not an ICC member and does not recognise the court’s authority.
