Operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 93 suspected internet fraudsters during a sting operation at a hotel located within Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the EFCC carried out the operation early on Sunday morning. The seized items include 18 vehicles, mobile phones, and other valuables linked to the alleged cybercrime suspects.
In a brief statement, the anti-graft agency confirmed the arrests but withheld the name and precise location of the hotel.
It said, “ They were arrested on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in a sting operation in Abeokuta, Ogun State, following credible intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet crimes.”
EFCC added that the suspects will be charged in court after investigations are concluded.
The operation comes just days after the EFCC apprehended two suspected internet fraudsters in the state on August 6.
The suspects were found in possession of two locally made pistols, six luxury cars, 89 mobile phones, laptops, and several incriminating documents.
